Kingwood, Texas, was voted one of the safest cities to live in the Houston, TX area. Outside of being extremely safe and an excellent area to live for families, Kingwood is a gorgeous town! Full of upscale communities, wooded areas, and Lake Houston, there are tons of sights to see and super fun things to do in Kingwood, TX.
For those of you living in Kingwood, or anyone visiting, we’ve put a local guide together of eight fun things to do! We’ll cover must-try eateries, attractions, and free activities that anyone would enjoy.

What’s more fun than retro arcade games, mini-golf, and laser tag? Time Loop Arcade offers fun for the whole family, and even better yet, they have awesome family deals throughout the week! The great thing about this retro arcade is that all of the games are free once you pay the price of admission. There’s a flat fee per person, but they have daily specials like Family Fridays, where four family members can play three hours of games for only $50! Time Loop is currently expanding its location to offer an 18 hole mini-putt course as well, so you and your family will have even more options for fun.

With tons of amazing eateries, boutiques, and being located right on Lake Houston, Kings Harbor is a must-visit destination in Kingwood. This upscale community-destination offers something for everyone, from delicious restaurants like Chimichurri’s Grill and Zammitti’s Italian Ristorante (we’ll talk more about these restaurants below) to cute shopping boutiques like Pretty Little Things. Lake Houston is gorgeous, and although we can’t imagine visiting Kings Harbor and being able to resist all of the wonderful food and shopping options, you can visit and walk around the area for free!

Old MacDonald’s Farm is located on the edge of Humble and Kingwood, but we had to include it on our list! Just a short drive away, Old MacDonald’s Farm has 15 acres of petting zoo animals, pony riding, animal feeding, and more. This would be a great activity for all ages, and the price of admission is only $15. In addition, the farm features seasonal activities like pumpkin patches and winter wonderlands, so if you’re in town around the holidays, you should definitely stop by!
6500 Kingwood Dr, Kingwood, TX 77345
Many residents of Kingwood have reviewed on Google that East End Park is their favorite park in the Houston area, and it’s easy to see why. East End Park features gorgeous scenery, nice walking/running trails, a beach, easy kayak or canoe access, and a peaceful atmosphere. If you’re looking for a free and relaxing nature getaway, check out East End Park!
River Grove Park is a fishing hot spot in Kingwood! The river branches from Lake Houston and offers amazing fishing and beautiful scenery for non-fishermen as well. The park has convenient boat ramps, amazing wildlife, and even a golf course nearby. This would be a great park to visit before or after heading over to Kings Harbor.

Just on the other side of Lake Houston, this brewery is a favorite among Kingwood residents. Stop by for a locally crafted beer and catch some awesome live music! Their event schedule is posted on their website, but they often have themed nights like songwriter night and blues nights.

We mentioned Chimichurri’s previously, but we have to tell you more about it! If you’re looking for a fancy, authentic, and delicious experience, look no further. This is a great spot for a date night, but make sure you dress to the nines, there’s a business casual dress code!
1660 W Lake Houston Pkwy Suite 104, Kingwood, TX 77339
Sharky’s is another local favorite right on the lake. It’s a fun bar and grill style restaurant with tons of great seafood options like Shark Bites, AKA bacon-wrapped shrimp with cheese stuffed inside! The fun doesn’t stop there, they also have “shark bait calamari”, gator bites, and more!
