What is HAAG Certification and How to Obtain It?
HAAG Certification is a training program that can be earned only by estimators, adjusters, home inspectors, contractors, and other roofing professionals. The program is designed to improve their skills in efficiently and effectively carrying out inspections and assessments for roof damage. It has three different course options including wind damage, residential roofing, and commercial roofing.
Roofing contractors must first complete and satisfy a number of prerequisites to be accepted into the program. Once accepted, they will undergo a three-day-long intensive training given by forensic experts, engineers, and industry leaders with over 300 years of combined experience.
After the training, the roofing contractor must pass a comprehensive exam to assess their knowledge of damage assessment evaluation, techniques, and philosophies. Once they pass, they become HAAG-Certified Inspectors.
To ensure that they maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills, HAAG-Certified Inspectors must maintain an active status and retake the exam every year.
