As part of our ongoing “Getting to Know Your Local Businesses” series, this week we sat down with Jason Harley, owner of Eagle Eye Roofing.

Tell us a bit about your business: What does your business offer, and how long have you been around?

Since 2014, we’ve been doing home improvements inside and outside our neighbour’s homes. We are a fully insured roofing company that specializes in residential home improvements like roof replacements, roof repair, new construction, fencing, and custom seamless gutter installation. All of our work is fully insured, and we take great pride in making sure each job is 100% up to the expectations of our customers.
No matter what job you are in need of, we’ll discuss your design ideas with you and help you have the home that you have imagined. We zero in on that beautiful mental picture that you have and focus on creating just that by using quality materials and expert craftsmanship! We also do not mix our crafts … if you hire us to do your roof, our experienced roofers will do your roof, NOT one of our fence technicians. Each trade is separate and requires experience to get everything just right to provide you a lasting build.
We use quality materials from the best manufacturers. For example, we are standardized on Atlas roofing materials. There are many advantages; but there are two key factors: the quality results in a warranty without loopholes and Atlas is the only shingle manufacturer that has a real warranty against the black algae that you see on many homes. Their warranty is backed by 3M Scotchguard, which is revolutionary in roofing materials. Your roof will perform in both aspects of function and cosmetics.

How did you decide to get involved in this line of work?

I’ve been in and out of the construction industry my entire life; but there was a tug in my heart for years to help storm victims. That tug couldn’t be ignored after a life changing circumstance in 2014 and I knew it was time for me to step out in faith knowing that helping others is what we are all called to do, and it couldn’t fail with the right focus.
When I started my business, my goal was to help people in need that are less fortunate. As the business has grown, we have continued to grow towards helping more people. We’ve helped the elderly, storm victims, members of the military, first responders, teachers and so many more.

Tell us a couple things you are proud of about your business. What are you known for? What separates you from the competition?

Honesty and Integrity! Our business name was no accident. An Eagle is a symbol of Honesty and Integrity and that’s our driving force. An Eagle’s Eye is used to spot a need from a higher level than other creatures. I believe our customers soon see that once we put eyes on their home that we only advise them on what exactly is needed to get the job done … the first time! No hidden agenda or games with a homeowner’s pocketbook. This industry is full of misleading information and folks that are in it to make a quick buck and then disappear. We want to provide a service that people know that they can trust to take care of them and their home. I’m very proud of our success in doing these things. We have a very limited amount of call backs with most of them being something that is actually unrelated. But, in the event that we do get a warranty claim, we will respond and respond quickly!

What is your favorite part of running this business?

I enjoy meeting all kinds of people and I’ve made really great friends in this community, especially in Kingwood. I’ve been all over this city (Houston) for more than 25 years in the service industry.
Kingwood is like no other in the sense of its tight knit family-based feel and values. The community here is truly one that still has a small town feel even though it’s very large. Many families have been rooted here for years and it’s a special thing to be a part of. I live here and couldn’t be happier with our neighbors and surroundings.

Who is your ideal customer/client? Who do you serve best?

Our ideal customer is any homeowner who needs a roof, fence, custom gutter or other home product installed on time, at the quoted price, and by professionals that take pride in their work.

Is there any other information you’d like your potential customers/clients to know about your business?

Our offerings also include easy and flexible financing, consultation on other home improvements with good referrals to other professionals, consultation on homeowner’s insurance coverage, and insurance claims help. In the event we find that you have storm damage that you weren’t aware of, we will deal directly with your insurance company, taking away the hassle of fixing your roof and other issues with your home.
Our company continues to support Tunnel for Towers, an organization that has given billions back to New York 911 victims. We will be even more focused on this organization as they continue to expand. We also plan to continue to support our local schools and the Kingwood Square Park. We do offer discounts to military, first responders, and educators.

How do you see your business growing and improving over the next couple of years?
